NBS: China's H1 ROM iron ore output slump 7% YoY

China's run-of-mine (ROM) iron ore production during the first half of this year totaled 466.9 million tonnes, plunging by 7% from the same period in 2025, according to the latest statistics from the country's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The decline deepened sharply from the 3.5% on-year drop seen in the first five months, with the half-year downtrend accelerated by a steep contraction in output during June, Mysteel Global observes.
