MMC Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel), a leading diversified mining and metallurgical company and one of the world's largest producers of palladium and high-grade nickel, has released its production results for the third quarter of 2025. The group's core operations are located in Russia's Kola Peninsula and Zabaykalsky Krai.
In Q3 2025, Nornickel produced 53,555 tonnes (in Ni. content) of nickel metal, up 18.40% compared to the previous quarter but down 4.03% year-on-year. The quarterly increase was attributed to a larger volume of raw materials accumulated during the shipping offseason in Q2, combined with higher output of nickel sulfide concentrate from the Kola production site.
In the first nine months of 2025, total nickel production fell by 4% year-on-year to 140,000 tonnes in Ni. content, mainly due to a higher proportion of disseminated ores and a lower share of high-grade ores in processed feed, as well as the need to replenish work-in-progress inventory.
