On November 10, Ganfeng Lithium announced that the Secretariat of Mining and Energy of Salta Province, Argentina has issued the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) report for the first phase of the PPGS lithium salt lake project, marking a critical milestone in the project's development.
The PPGS lithium salt lake project is scheduled to submit an application under Argentina's Large-scale Investment Promotion Regime (RIGI) in the first half of 2026. According to the technical report, the integrated PPGS project contains approximately 15.07 million tonnes of measured and controlled lithium carbonate equivalent (LCE) resources, positioning it as one of the largest undeveloped lithium brine resources globally. The project will utilize Ganfeng Lithium's direct lithium extraction (DLE) technology combined with solar evaporation ponds, aiming to enhance production efficiency and reduce freshwater consumption.
