On November 12, Yahua Group stated that the company has made significant progress in both the synthesis process and mass production technology of lithium sulfide, a core raw material for solid-state electrolytes. It has successfully developed a novel gas-solid method for synthesizing lithium sulfide. This technical route is based on the company's newly developed high-specific-surface-area porous lithium salt, which enables faster and more complete chemical reactions, offering substantial advantages in material cost, purity, particle fineness, and process controllability.
The company is collaborating with key equipment manufacturers to conduct feasibility studies for setting up a pilot production line for scaled lithium sulfide manufacturing. Major breakthroughs have been achieved in addressing critical common challenges such as hazardous gas control, uniformity of gas-solid reactions, and homogenization and refinement of crystal size. The construction of the lithium sulfide pilot line is expected to commence in 2026.
