On November 17, GEM Co., Ltd. answered questions via an online platform that its MHP project in Indonesia, with a total annual capacity of 150,000 tonnes of nickel (including equity stakes), has successfully achieved full production. The 66,000-tonne-nickel-per-year MHP project, jointly invested with PT Vale Indonesia Tbk (PTVI) in the Indonesia Green Industrial Park (IGIP), is also progressing steadily.
In the third quarter of 2025, GEM's Indonesian nickel resource projects shipped 35,939 tonnes of nickel (including equity-based production), averaging nearly 12,000 tonnes per month, or approximately 400 tonnes daily.
Furthermore, the annual quota policy implemented in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) reflects uncertainties in the traditional cobalt supply chain. GEM has effectively mitigated disruptions in the global cobalt supply through cobalt recycling and self-produced cobalt from its Indonesian nickel projects. The company's annual recycled cobalt volume exceeds 350% of China's primary cobalt mining output. In the first three quarters of 2025, GEM recycled over 6,000 tonnes of cobalt, while its Indonesian nickel projects (including equity output) produced 6,534 tonnes of cobalt, substantially supplementing supply during the DRC's cobalt embargo period.
