On November 21, Tinci Materials officially broke ground on its first electrolyte plant in North America, located in Baytown, Texas, USA. With a total investment of approximately $200 million, the project will establish an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes of electrolyte upon completion. This represents a crucial strategic milestone for Tinci in advancing its global layout and serving the overseas new energy industry.
Tinci Materials stated that the North American base is not only the company's first large-scale manufacturing facility overseas but also a key pivot in its global strategy. The project will strengthen the clean energy supply chain in North America, enhance local production capabilities, and provide stable, reliable material support for electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and new energy technologies.
According to the plan, once operational, the plant will not only achieve an annual output of 200,000 tonnes of electrolyte but also deliver multiple positive impacts:
-
Consolidate Texas' position as an advanced manufacturing hub and drive regional industrial upgrading
-
Strengthen the security of the new energy supply chain in North America, reducing dependence on imports and supply risks
-
Create numerous job opportunities and promote long-term regional development
-
Attract more high-quality global enterprises to establish local presence, forming an industrial clustering effect
Previously, it was reported that land preparation for Tinci Materials' integrated lithium battery materials project in Morocco has been completed, with construction scheduled to begin between the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026.
