Indonesia mulls 1-5% coal export tariff in 2026

Indonesia plans to set an export tariff on all coal shipments abroad at 1-5% starting in 2026, local media CNBC Indonesia quoted Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as saying.
The minister noted that the proposed tariff mirrors the arrangement in place before the Job Creation Law, which exempted coal from export taxes. "So, I'm returning it to normal," Purbaya said. "Before the Job Creation Law, the tariff range was 1-5%," he told reporters at the House of Representatives
