Jakarta okays 580 million t coal output in 2026 RKAB but final volume uncertain

Indonesia has so far approved 580 million tonnes of coal production for 2026 under its Work Plan and Budget (RKAB), according to government officials cited by CNBC Indonesia.

The approved volume reflects partial approvals rather than a final completion, leaving room for further adjustments as the review process continues, according to Tri Winarno, Director General of Minerals and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
