On December 4, Laizhou City successfully signed an investment agreement for the Wanhua Laizhou Industrial Park project with Wanhua Chemical. According to the plan, Wanhua Chemical will invest in Laizhou to construct a project with an annual production capacity of 650,000 tonnes of lithium iron phosphate (LFP). Upon reaching full capacity, the project will provide key material support for the development of the new energy industry in Shandong Province, including power batteries and energy storage batteries.
The LFP project in Laizhou City signifies the company's transformation from a traditional polyurethane and petrochemical giant into a global comprehensive chemical new materials platform, now encompassing four major pillars: polyurethane, petrochemicals, fine chemicals, and new energy materials.
