China Shenhua's historic $19 Bln acquisition set to bolster energy supply chain

China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd, the listed flagship of the state-owned energy giant China Energy Investment Corporation, announced on December 19 that it will acquire stakes in 12 core assets from its parent for Yuan 133.6 billion ($19 billion). The assets span coal, power, chemical, shipping, trading and port businesses.

Specifically, China Shenhua will acquire 100% shares in ten of these assets, and 41% and 49% of the rest two companies engaged in coal mining and trading businesses, respectively, according to the firm's statement.
