On the 23rd, South Korean lithium-ion battery electrolyte manufacturer Enchem announced that its board of directors has approved the signing of a five-year electrolyte supply contract with the world's largest battery manufacturer, CATL. The contract is scheduled to be formally signed on the 24th. This agreement is specifically for CATL's Chinese market, with the supply period spanning from 2026 to 2030. It stipulates an annual supply of 70,000 tonnes, resulting in a total supply volume of 350,000 tonnes over the contract duration.
Korean media reports indicate that, based on current prices, the contract is valued at approximately 1.5 trillion Korean won (equivalent to roughly Yuan 7.23 billion), which is more than four times Enchem's consolidated sales for 2024. Additionally, the annual supply volume of 70,000 tonnes not only exceeds Enchem's total electrolyte shipments in 2023 (approximately 50,000 tonnes) but also represents the largest single-customer order in the company's history since its establishment.
