China PP maintenance-related capacity loss is expected to reach 8.74 million tonnes in 2026, up 9.84% YoY. This rise may ease supply pressure to some extent.

China polypropylene (PP) maintenance-related capacity loss reached 7.93 million tonnes in 2025, up 9.28% year-on-year (YoY). Scheduled maintenance remained the main cause (65%), while cost-driven shutdowns rose to 14% as falling prices squeezed producer margins.
