North Queensland's coal exports climb 5% MoM in December

Coal shipments to overseas markets from three Australian terminals under the management of North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP) totalled 12.14 million tonnes in December last year, up 5.4% from November and down by a small 0.9% on year, according to the company's latest data published on January 13.

Robust shipments from the two coal terminals at the Port of Hay Point mainly contributed to the overall on-month climb. According to the NQBP's data, coal exports from the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT) jumped 10.2% on month and 13.2% on year to reach 6.18 million tonnes in December,
