China's imports of cobalt hydrometallurgical intermediate products in December 2025 totaled 1,879.034 tonnes, (based on a 30% grade, this converts to approximately 563.71 tonnes of cobalt), based on data from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC). This represents a decrease of 64.66% month-on-month and a sharp year-on-year decline of 96.47%. The import value for the month was USD $23.576 million, resulting in an average import price of USD $12,546.89/tonne. The cumulative import volume for the period reached 93,260.18 tonnes, reflecting a cumulative year-on-year decrease of 50.54%.
