China 2025 PX Imports reach 9,607,500 tonnes

In January 2026, China's PX imports are expected to be around 880,000 tonnes, showing a slight downward trend. This is due to eased PX shortages compared to December, but downstream PTA supply is expected to increase slightly, keeping PX supply and demand tight, leading to a fluctuating decline in imports.

According to the data of General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China (GACC), in December 2025, China's Paraxylene (PX) imports reached 933,800 tonnes, an increase of 117,000 tonnes or 14.32% month-on-month.
