On January 28, the construction site of Cornex New Energy's 70 GWh lithium battery project in Xiangyang was bustling with towering cranes and rapidly rising buildings. The project commenced on October 28, 2025, and just three months later, the main structure of the first battery cell workshop, Workshop No. 3, achieved structural topping-out.
With a total investment of Yuan 22 billion, the Xiangyang Choneng project aims to build a comprehensive industrial chain covering battery cell production, PACK assembly, and energy storage systems.
It is reported that the battery cell workshop is the core production facility of the project. As one of the four planned battery cell workshops, Workshop No. 3 has achieved structural topping-out ahead of schedule, marking a significant milestone. By February 6, it is expected that over 80% of the individual building structures will have completed their topping-out phases.
