Atlas Iron gets approval to unlock 10 mln t of iron ore

Hancock Prospecting's Atlas Iron has received government approval for Stage 2 of its Sanjiv Ridge project in Western Australia's Pilbara region, unlocking access to approximately 10 million tonnes of iron ore, according to a recent news release from Hancock Iron Ore.

In June last year, Hancock Prospecting consolidated its Roy Hill and Atlas Iron operations under a new banner of Hancock Iron Ore, as reported. Located roughly 241 kilometers southeast of Port Hedland in the Shire of East Pilbara, Sanjiv Ridge Stage 2 will include three new pits – Glen Herring, Dazzler and Hero.
