CVWorld: China's heavy truck sales jump 40% YoY in January

Sales of heavy-duty trucks in China from makers direct to dealers and for export opened the year on a high note to total around 100,000 units in January, higher by 39% from the 72,200 units sold in the same month last year, according to a preliminary estimate released by the Beijing-headquartered Commercial Vehicle World, a well-recognized market intelligence provider on China's truck manufacturing sector.

However, the impressive January figure was not a reflection of strong retail sales as such, but more of efforts made by manufacturers and their supply-chain partners to ensure a good start for 2026 – to boost market confidence – by targeting concentrated sales, CVWorld indicated.
