NBS: China's output of four major white goods tops 170 mln units in Q1

China's production of the four major home appliances posted mixed trends in the first three months of 2026, with output of air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines posting on-year increases, while that of televisions slid slightly from January-March 2025, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Total output of the four white goods amounted to 172.9 million units over the past three months, which was largely flat from the same period last year, Mysteel Global noted. Among the four, refrigerators registered the biggest on-year gain in production, with the volume jumping 9.4% to 27.22 million units over January-March. In contrast, production of televisions dipped by 2% on year to 40.51 million units
