NBS: China's Jan-May output of major white goods mixed

China's production of the four major home appliances during this year’s January-May period saw output of air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines rise on-year, while that of televisions slipped modestly from the same period last year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Total output of the four white goods amounted to 295.88 million units over the past five months, dipping by a small 1.5% on year, Mysteel Global calculated based on the NBS data. Among the four, production of refrigerators posted the biggest on-year gain again, with the volume jumping 12.6% to 47.42 million units over January-May.
