NBS: China's Jan-Apr output of major white goods mixed

China's production of the four major home appliances posted mixed trends again over January-April 2026, with output of air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines posting on-year rises, while that of televisions slid slightly from the same period last year, according to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

Total output of the four white goods amounted to 235.67 million units over the past four months, largely flat from the same period last year, Mysteel Global noted. Among the four, production of refrigerators continued to record the biggest on-year gain, with the volume jumping 12.2% to 37.33 million units over January-April. In contrast, production of televisions slipped by 3.6% on year to 54.86 million units
