In January 2026, the production output of Chinese PV cell manufacturers amounted to 39.06 GW, marking a month-on-month decrease of 15.51% and a year-on-year decline of 11.64%.
The cancellation of the export tax rebate in January stimulated overseas demand. However, due to rising silver prices, solar cell enterprises assessed increased costs against potential overseas revenue. Although some manufacturers ramped up production, most specialized firms opted to reduce output in order to support prices.
According to Mysteel projections, the scheduled production for PV cells in February 2026 is 34.04 GW, reflecting a month-on-month decrease of 12.83%.
