Russia's 2025 coal output remains stable YoY

Russia's output of coal for all uses totalled 429 million tonnes in 2025, down 0.2% from the previous year, according to the latest data from the Russian Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat).
Among hard coal types, output of anthracite and coking coal reached 20.2 million tonnes and 101 million tonnes, down 9.9% and 8.8% from the previous year respectively. Production of other hard coal – mainly thermal coal used for power generation – accounted for 207 million tonnes, up 3.6% on
