Canada's coal output remains stable YoY in 2025

Canada's production of coal of all types totalled 42.35 million tonnes in 2025, largely in line with the 42.58 million tonnes produced during the previous year, Mysteel Global calculated based on monthly data from Statistics Canada.

Output of bituminous coal – including coal for steelmaking and power generation – accounted for around 87% of the total at 36.81 million tonnes, up 2.7% on year.
