On March 8, the Renhua County Industrial High-Quality Development Investment Promotion Conference and the commencement ceremony for GuangDong NPP New Energy Co., Ltd.'s Sodium-ion Battery Production Project were successfully held in Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province.
The Project, with a total investment of Yuan 6.75 billion, focuses on three major application scenarios, including energy storage, low-speed transportation, and specialized fields. It aims to establish an R&D and production base for sodium-ion battery cells, battery modules, and energy storage systems.
The project is being constructed in two phases. Once fully completed, its annual output value is expected to reach Yuan 15 billion. The first phase, a 5 GWh production line, is scheduled to commence operations in June 2027 and is projected to achieve an annual output value of approximately Yuan 3 billion upon reaching full capacity.
