On March 12, Indonesian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia stated that Indonesia is accelerating the utilization of its abundant domestic renewable energy to reduce dependence on imported fuel and ensure national energy security. Bahlil explained that the government is expediting the construction of solar power facilities with a total installed capacity of up to 100 gigawatts, and will further develop various clean energy sources such as geothermal and hydropower.
