On March 17, 2026, Canadian Solar Inc. announced that its energy storage solutions subsidiary, e-STORAGE, has signed a supply agreement with a major overseas utility company to deliver battery energy storage systems for a ~500 MW/2,493 MWh (DC) storage project. The project is designed to support the rapidly growing electricity demand from data centers and strengthen the resilience and reliability of the regional power grid.
Under the agreement, e-STORAGE will supply approximately 500 SolBank 3.0 battery energy storage units, featuring battery cells independently developed and produced by Canadian Solar. Equipment shipments are scheduled to commence in March 2027 and be completed by July 2027.
