China Shenhua's coal sales, revenues both drop in 2025

China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd., the listed flagship of the state-owned energy giant China Energy Investment Corporation in Beijing, saw its coal sales drop by 6.4% on-year during 2025 to total 430.9 million tonnes, with 425.6 million tonnes supplied to domestic customers, according to the report.

As a leading miner mainly producing thermal coal, last year China Shenhua shipped around 76% of its coal output (325 million tonnes) to power plants, down 6.8% from the previous year. The remaining 24% was bought by users in other industries such as steelmaking and chemicals. The total sales of
