According to the latest news on April 9, Sunwoda Mobility Energy Technology, a subsidiary of Sunwoda focusing on power batteries, has officially entered Tesla's supply chain, becoming Tesla's fifth global power battery supplier.
An industry source familiar with the project revealed that LFP (lithium iron phosphate) batteries for Tesla models have already been shipped from Sunwoda's Yiwu factory in Zhejiang Province. These batteries are being used in export vehicles produced at Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory, and shipments have been ongoing for some time.
This means that, following CATL, Panasonic, LG Energy Solution, and BYD, Tesla's battery supply chain has now welcomed another new Chinese member.
