Work begins on large thermal coal mine in Inner Mongolia

Huaihe Energy Holding Group, a state-run energy giant located in East China's Anhui province, has formally begun construction on a new thermal coal mine in North China's Inner Mongolia that should still be operating well into the 2100s, Mysteel Global has learned.

Infrastructure for the mine, known as the Subu'erga mine and located in the DongSheng coal field in Inner Mongolia's Ordos city, formally began on April 8, according to a Huaihe Energy statement. The mine hosts reserves estimated at 1.66 billion tonnes, with exploitable reserves currently set at 975 million tonnes,
