According to the latest news, Indian company Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Godawari New Energy Private Limited (GNEPL), has signed a five-year supply agreement with Eve Power (a subsidiary of Eve Energy) to procure lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
The agreement was disclosed in a regulatory filing on April 13, 2026, and will be used to support the first phase of GNEPL's planned 20 GWh battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing project. The agreement covers the supply of 628 Ah LFP batteries, which will be used in GNEPL's BESS assembly line. The report notes that the 628Ah specification represents a higher-capacity prismatic format, aligning with the industry's shift toward larger cells to reduce system complexity and assembly costs.
However, the announcement did not disclose the total value of the agreement, the annual supply volume, or the location of the proposed manufacturing facility. The relevant commercial terms are subject to negotiation between the two parties.
