Leading Chinese coal miners step up operations in March after CNY

China Shenhua Energy Co., Ltd. and China Coal Energy Co., Ltd., two listed coal companies both headquartered in Beijing, reported stronger production and sales in March, as the Chinese market picked up pace after a nine-day Chinese New Year (CNY) break earlier in February, the two companies' operation reports showed.

China Shenhua, the major arm of state-owned China Energy Investment Corporation, saw its coal output jump 11.6% on month to 28 million tonnes last month, with its sales rising 10.8% from February to 36.8 million tonnes.
