Sweden's LKAB posts lower iron ore production and sales in Q1

Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB), a state-owned Swedish mining company and Europe's largest iron ore producer, produced 6.5 million tonnes of iron ore during January-March this year, lower by 1.5% compared with the same period in 2026, according to the company's latest quarterly report.

The slight on-year decline in LKAB's iron ore output during the past quarter mainly reflected minor production disruptions and an extended maintenance shutdown, the report notes.
