Last week, market prices of cobalt intermediates remained flat, with quotations stagnant at US $25.9 per pound, and no tradable transactions or circulating volumes were reported. Since May, the number of container vessels shipping cobalt intermediates from the Port of Durban has increased significantly; however, the actual number of containers destined for China remains relatively low. According to monitoring, including vessels that have already arrived at port, a total of five ships are potentially bound for China, of which two have completed unloading, and three are still in transit. It should be noted that these vessels merely indicate a possibility of reaching China and do not imply a significant volume of cobalt intermediates arrivals. Currently, DRC is experiencing a slowdown in dispatch speed due to tight availability of land transport vehicles. In addition, miners are considering making the shipment to Zimbabwe for loading and dispatch to reduce land transport lead times.
