On May 19, the Management Committee of Sichuan Jiang'an Economic Development Zone issued the First Public Notice on the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Annual 26,500-Tonne Battery-Grade Lithium Carbonate Technical Transformation Project of Tyeeli (Yibin) Co., Ltd. The project plans to convert the finished product warehouse area of Phase I into a lithium carbonate production line with a designed capacity of 26,500 tonnes per year.
The project will use the lithium hydroxide re-dissolved solution produced by the company itself as raw material and adopt the lithium hydroxide carbonization process to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate. This process is simple and convenient, offers high raw material utilization efficiency, and enables flexible allocation of products and resources at a relatively low cost.
This marks Canmax's second lithium carbonate production expansion this year, following the Phase II project of Sichuan Tianhua Era Lithium Energy Co., Ltd.
