According to Mysteel, an RKEF project on the island of Halmahera in Indonesia plans to convert its high-grade nickel pig iron (NPI) production line to produce nickel matte starting in June. The switch is expected to reduce high-grade NPI output by approximately 2,600 tonnes in Ni. content per month, with a corresponding increase in nickel matte supply.
