NBS: China industrial firms' Jan-Apr profits leap over 18% YoY

Sizable Chinese industrial enterprises saw their combined profits total Yuan 2.44 trillion ($359.1 billion) over January-April this year, jumping by a large 18.2% on-year from the first four months last year, according to the latest release from China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on May 27.

The on-year growth in their cumulative profits widened by another 2.7 percentage points from the January-March period thanks to the huge 24.7% on-year increase during last month alone, the NBS release indicated. 'Sizable industrial firms' refers to industrial companies whose main business revenue annually surpasses the threshold of Yuan 20
