On May 28, the International Energy Agency (IEA) released its World Energy Investment 2026. The IEA projects that electricity-related investment will remain the dominant theme in global energy spending trends. By 2026, investment in electricity supply and infrastructure is expected to reach nearly US $1.6 trillion, and when including end-use electrification,2 trillion. Among them, power grid investment is expected to approach $550 billion, a year-on-year increase of nearly 20%, while battery storage investment is projected to exceed $100 billion. This is also a result of the rapid expansion of data centers and artificial intelligence.
