Recently, the environmental impact report for the Phase I (30,000/t) of the 150,000/tonne battery-grade lithium carbonate project, which is part of the "Phosphorus-Titanium-Iron-Lithium" coupled cyclic integration project in Kaiyang, Guizhou, has been made publicly available for pre-approval consultation.
According to the project description, the site is located in Shuangyong Village, Shuangliu Town, Kaiyang County, Guiyang City, Guizhou Province, covering a total area of approximately 134,883 kilometers. The total estimated investment is Yuan 881.67 million, of which Yuan 40 million is allocated for environmental protection measures. The construction period is planned to be 18 months. Upon completion, Phase I will establish a production line with an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes of battery-grade lithium carbonate, along with 84,960 tonnes per year of anhydrous sodium sulfate as a by-product.
The main process units include a conversion and acidification unit, leaching workshop, purification workshop, lithium carbonate workshop, and sodium sulfate workshop. Supporting utilities and auxiliary facilities comprise an initial rainwater collection pond, an emergency pond, a wastewater treatment station, a hardware warehouse, a hazardous waste warehouse, a solid waste warehouse, a Category C warehouse, a product warehouse, and other public works and auxiliary installations.
