On July 3, Tinci Materials announced that its subsidiary, Nantong Tinci, has terminated the project for the annual production of 243,000 tonnes of lithium battery and fluorine-containing new materials. The project originally had a planned total investment of Yuan 2.654 billion, with an outstanding balance of construction-in-progress of Yuan 9.3613 million as of June 30, 2026.
The termination was attributed to a supply-demand mismatch in the electrolyte industry, intensifying market competition, as well as changes in the fluorochemical market environment, all of which led to weaker overall investment returns. The company stated that the termination will not have a material adverse impact on its current operating performance, and has already initiated research and feasibility studies for new product solutions at the Nantong facility.
