FLASH: Shanxi thermal coal mine suspends output after fatal roof fall

A privately owned underground thermal coal mine in Changzhi city in North China's Shanxi province, suspended operations after a roof fall accident on the morning of July 6 left one worker dead, Mysteel Global learned from local sources.

Local authorities immediately ordered 1.2 million tonnes/year capacity mine to halt all production pending a safety investigation. According to Mysteel's survey, all production faces at the mine have been sealed and coal shipments have been suspended.
