Daqin railway June shipments slip 5% MoM as coal demand softens

China's Datong-Qinhuangdao (Daqin) railway, the country's premier coal-dedicated heavy-haul corridor, shipped 36.89 million tonnes of bulk commodities in June, up 13.8% year on year but down 5% from May, Daqin Railway Co., Ltd has announced.
The 653-km rail line connects Datong in Shanxi province – one of China's largest coal mining hubs – to Qinhuangdao port on the Bohai Sea, with coal accounting for nearly 90% of total shipments, as Mysteel Global has reported.     The year-on-year increase extended the line's growth streak in cargo volumes,
