Daqin railway freight shipments surge 18% YoY in May

China's Datong-Qinhuangdao (Daqin) railway, a key coal-dedicated corridor, shipped 38.85 million tonnes of bulk commodities in May, surging 17.9% year on year, Daqin Railway Co., Ltd said on June 8.
The 653-km line connects Datong, a major coal mining hub in Shanxi province, to Qinhuangdao port in Hebei province on the Bohai Sea, with coal accounting for nearly 90% of total shipments, as reported.     Freight traffic in May, which also jumped 24.7% from April, hit the second-highest monthly level on
