Coal exports from Australia's Newcastle port rise for 4th month in June

Exports of all types of coal from the Port of Newcastle in Southeast Australia's New South Wales (NSW) reached 15.14 million tonnes in June, up 14.3% from May, according to the newest trade data from the port. On a yearly basis, the volume was also higher by around 12%.

According to the trade data, coal exports via the port had been rising for four months since February, supported by stronger purchases from East Asian markets such as Japan and South Korea.
