India's coal output recovers slightly in June, but CIL production remains weak

India's national coal production recovered to 80.09 million tonnes in June, rising 1.4% on year, according to latest data from the country's Ministry of Coal. This reversed a sharp on-year decline of 9.5% recorded in May, Mysteel Global noted.
The June figure brought the country's cumulative coal output for April-June – the first quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year – to 232.49 million tonnes, still 5.9% lower than the same period of last fiscal, the data showed.     The recovery in June was driven largely by strong growth from captive
