NBS: China's FAI, property investment both fall YoY in H1

China’s fixed asset investment (FAI) dropped by 5.7% on year to total Yuan 22.64 trillion ($3.34 trillion) in the first six months of this year, making for a steeper fall from the January-May decline of 4.1%, according to the latest release from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on July 15.

Within the total, the cumulative funding for the country's property sector over the first six months registered Yuan 3.81 trillion, slumping by a sharper 18% compared to the year-ago level. Over January-June, tertiary industry still attracted the most funding among the three major economic sectors, though total investment in the sector slumped by 8.4% on year to reach Yuan 13.86 trillion. Within the tertiary industry segment,
