South Africa launches safeguard, AD probes against certain CR flat steel imports

The International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) has initiated safeguard and anti-dumping (AD) investigations into imports of certain cold-rolled (CR) carbon-steel flat products from all origins and China respectively, according to two notices dated on July 10 and published by ITAC on July 15.

The commission made the announcement on behalf of the Southern African Customs Union (SACU), a Customs union among five countries in southern Africa – namely Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Namibia and South Africa – which has a common external tariff regime.
