According to a recent announcement from the Taihe County People's Government, the environmental impact report (draft) for Anhui Tianshuo Lithium Battery New Material Technology Co., Ltd.'s comprehensive utilization project for spent electric vehicle batteries has been released for public consultation.
Tianshuo Lithium Battery plans to invest Yuan 410 million to build a new comprehensive utilization facility for spent EV batteries at the Green New Energy Base of Taihe Economic Development Zone (Xiaokou Area, Fuyang Shoutai New Energy Industrial Park). The project covers approximately 79.6 mu (about 5.3 hectares) and is designed to process 40,000 tonnes per year of spent lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries and 10,000 tonnes of spent ternary lithium batteries. The facility will primarily produce echelon-use batteries, LFP black mass, ternary black mass, and lithium carbonate, supplemented by valuable by-products including copper, aluminum, and sodium sulfate. Key infrastructure includes battery warehouses, a depackaging workshop, a dry-processing workshop, a wet-processing workshop, a general warehouse, and a wastewater treatment station, along with supporting environmental protection facilities such as wastewater treatment systems.
