Mongolia moves to plug fuel shortage though coal supply stays unaffected

Domestic fuel shortages in Mongolia have prompted the country to seek additional supplies from China, Russia and South Korea, although the country's coal production and exports have remained largely stable so far.

According to Mongolia's Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, the country currently holds around 31,000 tonnes of AI-92 gasoline, equivalent to approximately 15 days of consumption, and 80,000 tonnes of diesel stocks, sufficient for around 20 days of demand.
