Leading coke firms in North China start to slash output

Some leading coke producers in North China's Shanxi and Hebei provinces have started slashing their operations this week, with curtailments ranging between 10% and 30%, Mysteel's latest survey results found.
The move follows their July 30 agreement with other producers in Inner Mongolia, Henan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Jiangxi, Yunnan and Guizhou to implement a coordinated 30% production cut. The aim is to break the vicious cycle of loss-making output and ease the mounting financial strain from further anticipated
